A bra can be the wrong size, the wrong shape, or both. The fastest way to separate those problems is to check the band on its own, look at where the wires sit, and compare what happens in one adjacent cup size versus a different cup construction.

- create side pressure.
A cup that is too deep may:
- leave empty space near the apex;

Why the neckline alone is not a reliable size test
Many people judge a cup from the top edge only.
That edge is affected by:
- cup height;
- strap placement;
- elastic tension;
- breast fullness;
- asymmetry;
- whether the cup is moulded;
- how the bra was put on.

Use movement to reveal the real problem
A bra can look acceptable while standing still and fail during normal movement.
After fastening and positioning the bra:
- raise both arms;
- lean forward;
- sit down;
- rotate the shoulders;

If the breast escapes while the band stays level, the cup volume or edge may be insufficient.
If the whole bra shifts, the band may be unstable.
