Size System
Japanese Bra Sizes Explained
Japanese band sizes step in five-centimetre increments like the EU system, and use the same non-doubling cup-letter sequence. Brand-specific variation is common, particularly for imported Western brands sold with a converted size.
What makes this system different
- Because Japanese band numbers use the EU five-centimetre pattern, converting between the two systems is direct and doesn't require an approximation.
- Imported brands sold in Japan sometimes print a converted size rather than a size measured against Japanese patterns - when that's the case, treat the printed number as a starting estimate, not a guarantee.
- As with any system, a brand's own published chart takes priority over a general system conversion when one is available.
