Full-Cup Bras
A full-cup bra encloses the breast completely, with a higher-cut top edge than a balconette or demi cup. It's built for maximum containment rather than a particular neckline.
Construction
The cup rises higher on the chest, the wire is typically wider to support more coverage, and the gore is often wider too for extra stability at the centre.
Common fit challenge
The extra fabric that makes a full cup so containing can also stand away from the body on a shallower or smaller-projecting shape, creating a boxy look even when the size itself is correct.
What to check
- Check that the top edge lies against the body rather than standing away from it.
- If it stands away consistently, that's more likely a projection/shape mismatch than a band or cup size issue.
- A full cup is usually the most forgiving style for band-and-cup accuracy, so it's a reasonable style to fit-check a newly calculated size in first.
